Hello everyone,
I thought I would share an experience I had in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Nestled on the mountain in Steamboat Springs, there’s an organization called STARS. They offer various programs designed to help individuals with disabilities experience the great outdoors. My involvement has primarily been with their programs that provide guides and instructors for skiing and snowboarding. This particular camp was dedicated to war-blinded veterans and their caretakers. Someday, I plan to write a detailed account of my experiences participating at STARS, but for now, I will provide their link and information below.
STARS provides life-changing experiences for participants with cognitive and physical disabilities, autism, injured veterans, and their families. Through our programs, participants gain self-esteem, independence, camaraderie, resilience, and courage.
